Awards Banquet – Master of Ceremonies

The Master of Ceremonies for the 2010 Cambridge Sports Awards will be Randy Steinman. Here is an overview on Randy Steinman’s background:

Randy Steinman has been the Sports Director of CTV Southwestern Ontario since 1997.  His return to CTV was a homecoming for the Cambridge-native. The Conestoga College BRT graduate had been a radio announcer in Kitchener, Cambridge and Guelph from 1979 to ’83.

Following three years as radio voice of the Allan Cup-champion Cambridge Hornets (1981 & ’82) and OHL’s Guelph Platers (1983), Steinman spent a decade covering sports in Chatham, Windsor and southeast Michigan. For six years, he was NewsRadio’s Network Sports Correspondent in Detroit, reporting on the Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons and Lions.  During the 1990’s, Randy hosted and produced more than 250 half-hour specials for CTV Sports. Since 1984, he has filed from countless national championships on both sides of the border.  He has covered major golf championships, NBA championships, World Series, Stanley Cup playoffs and Memorial Cups, as well as national college football and curling championships.

As Administrator of the MediaLine Group based in Pacific Grove, California, Steinman evaluates, mentors and consults Television Anchors and Reporters across the U.S.  In 2008, he authored a best-selling non-fiction ‘Crowded Maze,’ featuring 25 true stories about friends and colleagues in the TV News industry.

Married to Weather Network primetime host Sheryl Plouffe, Randy is a proud member of the Preston High School Hall of Fame.
